Uniforms

Uniforms will be issued to Cadets when enrollment is complete (ID in hand) and Cadet has completed the BMR (USNSCC) or Part One of the Syllabus (USNLCC). See "Advancement" for more info on completion of BMR and Syllabus .

WORKING UNIFORM

NWU - Navy working uniform

Blouse - The NSCC/NLCC Flash with an eagle facing to the left (inward) will be sewn on the right breast pocket.

USNSCC/USLSCC Tape will have the sides folded under, to match the width of the pocket and sewn directly over the left breast pocket.

Name tape will have the sides folded under, to match the width of the pocket and sewn directly over the right breast pocket.


Trousers - Name Strip. The appropriate name strip will be worn centered (with the sides of the tape folded under to match the width of the pocket) over the right rear pocket.


Cover - The NSCC Mini Left Side Flash will be worn by Officers, Midshipmen, Instructors and NSCC Cadets. The NLCC Mini Flash will be worn by NLCC Cadets. Please note that rank insignia is NOT worn on the NWU eight point cover.

Belt. Officers, Midshipmen, Instructors, and Chief Petty Officers, will wear a khaki web belt with gold tip and buckle. NSCC Cadets PO1 and below and NLCC cadets SLPO and below will wear a black belt with silver tip and buckle.

Footwear - NWU will be worn with a smooth leather black boot with 8 inch or 9 inch upper. Trouser legs will be bloused to boot tops with blousing bands (not tucked), to present a neat appearance.

A Note on Pant Length:

Pants shall be hemmed in a manner such that the front of the pant leg just touches the second lace hole from the toe of the dress shoe. The back pant leg should rest just above the beginning of the rubber sole.


A Note on Shoes:

  1. This shoe is worn with winter and summer dress uniforms.

  2. There are no seams or creases in the toe of the shoe.

  3. You MUST be able to polish this shoe, no coraframs!

RIGHT

  • The nameplate is worn centered on the right chest of the jumper. The bottom of the nameplate is level with ribbon bar and parallel to the deck.

  • Earned rank patches are sewn on the right sleeve 2 1/2 inches below the bottom edge of the shoulder flash.

  • Sea Cadet flashes/patches should be sewn on both the right and left upper arm/shoulder (1 inch below shoulder seam).

  • The eagle beaks face toward your heart. There is right and left version of these patches.

LEFT

  • Ribbon Rack is worn centered on the left chest of the jumper. The bottom of the ribbons are level to the nameplate and parallel to the deck.

  • Sea Cadet flashes/patches should be sewn on both the right and left upper arm/shoulder (1 inch below shoulder seam).

  • BB43 does not wear an additional patch with our unit name.

  • The eagle beaks face toward your heart. There is right and left version of these patches.
