Advancement - USNSCC

To maintain enrollment in the NSCC, Cadets must achieve, at a minimum, one advancement per enrollment year. 

In both the NLCC and NSCC, all advancements will require, at a minimum: 

1. Completion of appropriate coursework in POLARIS

2. Pass the Physical Readiness Test every 6 months 

3. Attend Training events 

New Cadets enter the unit as a Seaman Recruit.   To advance in rate, a cadet should first complete the coursework  requirements and plan to attend Recruit training (RT) in the summer.  After attending RT there are several Advanced Trainings available to cadets based on their interests.  Cadets and their parents get access to coursework (POLARIS) and trainings (HOMEPORT) through their Quarterdeck portal.
