U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corp

Test your limits

The mission of BB43 is to introduce youth ages 10 - 17 to the sea-going military services and U.S. naval operations and training while developing in them a sense of personal and corporate pride, patriotism, courage, teamwork, accountability and self-reliance. Our vision is to provide an organization which trains our youth to become the servant leaders of tomorrow; confident in their abilities to lead and mentor, and never hesitant to help others in need. The core values of our program are Honor, Courage, and Commitment.

Our unit conducts drill one weekend per month from 0730 (7:30am) - 1600 (4pm) on SAT and SUN in Millington, TN, and our cadets also attend additional trainings over summer and/or winter breaks. Cadets are required to maintain 75% attendance and advance in rank each year through physical challenges, academic coursework, and annual training evolutions outside of the local unit.

You and your children ages 10-17 are invited to attend our Interest Meeting! We will start our Zoom call with a brief informational session followed by Q and A with our Commanding Officer, staff members, and senior cadets. All potential cadets must have a parent with them on the call.

After the meeting you will be invited to visit one of our drill weekends to observe our unit in action. If after the interest meeting and observation of drill weekend you are interested in joining the unit, you may request a “Welcome Aboard” packet via email:

Our next INDOC session for new cadets will begin in NOV 2020. The application packet and $230/cadet enrollment fee must be submitted by 23 OCT to be included in the NOV INDOC session.

After NOV session, the next enrollment period will begin MAR 2021.

Additional Interest Meetings will be held on:

Aug 22 at 9am

Aug 25 at 7pm

Sept 22 at 7pm

Sept 26 at 9am

Oct 17 at 9am

Oct 20 at 7pm

What to wear to drill:

Potential New Recruits should report in khaki pants and a navy blue t-shirt/sweatshirt, and athletic shoes. Bring a water bottle (hydration) and any cold/rainy weather gear that may be needed.

Due to insurance requirements, cadets without valid USNSCC ID in hand are not permitted to participate in Physical Training, but will participate in other unit activities.

Plan of the Month (POM)

The POM will be sent approximately one week prior to drill weekend to those who have responded that they would like to attend. Cadets/parents are responsible for reading and acting on all information contained on the POM.

Drill Weekend Lunch - Cadets bring a sack lunch and their own hydration (water bottle)
